OSSA is accepting nominations for the following Board positions:

President, Treasurer and a Director at Large.

Specifically the Board of Directors is looking for the following skills and characteristics: accounting, legal, fundraising and marketing.


Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Board of Directors must complete the Board of Directors Expression of Interest form and return the completed form to the OSSA at 100 St. Charles Street East, Maryhill ON N0B 2B0, or scan and e-mail it to the attention of the Nominating Committee at ossa@ontariospedskating.ca by Wednesday February 10, 2021. Please consider joining the OSSA Board of Directors.

In accordance with the By-Laws of the Ontario Speed Skating Association (OSSA), and directed by the President of the Association, Mr. David Butterworth, this notice is to inform you the Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday February 28, 2021 at 4:00 PM ET. This meeting will be held online.


If you are interested in attending the meeting please register here by February 27, 2021 at 5:00PM and an online meeting invitation will be sent to you no later than February 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM.


AGM reports, financial statements, meeting agenda, and minutes will be

available for your review on the OSSA website prior to the meeting.

Team Canada entered the ISU World Cup Speed Skating circuit with a bang last weekend! Despite having to train outdoors, on inlines, short track and dryland this season due to mechanical failure at the Calgary Olympic Oval, our OSSA skaters representing Canada showed they were prepared to start the World Cup Season!


Congratulations to Ivanie Blondin, Isabelle Weidemann and Jordan Belchos on a great World Cup 1 weekend in the Heerenveen bubble!


Ivanie - Gold in Ladies Team Pursuit, Silver in Mass Start

Isabelle - Gold in Ladies Team Pursuit, 5th in 3000m

Jordan - Bronze in Men's Team Pursuit, 4th in Mass Start, 7th in 5000m


Action is underway this weekend at World Cup #2!

Today in the Team Pursuit, the Women's Team with Ivanie and Isabelle won Gold while Jordan and the Men's Team claimed Silver!
