Ontario Skaters Excel at World Championships

Ontario Speed Skating had 3 skaters representing Speed Skating Canada at the 2021 World Cups and World Championships in the Heerenveen bubble. After facing training setbacks due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the closure of the Calgary Olympic Oval due to mechanical failure, we couldn't be more proud of these skaters and their outstanding results in this unprecedented season!

Their World Championships results include:

Silver - Ladies' Team Pursuit - Isabelle Weidemann, Ivanie Blondin and Valerie Maltais Silver - Men's team Pursuit - Jordan Belchos, Ted-Jan Bloemen, Connor Howe

Ivanie Blondin: Silver in Ladies' Mass Start

Isabelle Weidemann: 5th in the 3000m, 4th in the 5000m.
